L’aereo è il mio posto nel mondo

Mi è sempre stato chiesto come sia nata la mia passione per il volo. Si potrebbe dire piuttosto che il desiderio di volare abbia sempre fatto parte di me. L’aviazione scorre nelle vene della mia famiglia. Dal mio bisnonno che prestò servizio come pilota di idrovolanti nell’aeronautica militare, a mio nonno che seguì la sua stessa strada per poi diventare comandante e istruttore in Alitalia sul Boeing 747; e quindi mio padre, che per la stessa passione, ha scelto di diventare ingegnere aeronautico.

Sentivo di dover dare una svolta alla mia vita

Fino a una certa età, ho pensato che il mio destino professionale fosse quello di gestire l’azienda di famiglia in Calabria, la regione in cui sono nato e cresciuto. La passione per il volo c’è sempre stata ma è rimasta tale per un po’, almeno finché non ho iniziato a lavorare per mettermi da parte i soldi che mi avrebbero aiutato a finanziarmi gli studi per diventare pilota.
